Reflection Of 1st Shoot - Sam & Alex

These images show us whilst we are doing our filming in the green-screen room. They show images from our first shoot and other shoots that we have done since then. They show us at work and what our filming looks like from behind the scenes to give our audience a better insight of what we have done to create our video and how. Reflection of a shoot is key as it helps visualize our past work and how we can amend and act upon our feedback and problems. As this is our first shoot as a production team there was many different problems that we faced and had to overcome such as the apporprauite lighting sources (professional lights as seen below) and costume addition. The idea of costumes in our music video aid to the portrayal of the characters that we wanted to highlight in our music video and help us effectively contrast to the 1970's codes and conventions of style and the stereotypes male figures applied to their lifestyles such as the growing of hair and facial hair which can also link to the male dominance and power in the societal hierarchy.

The image below displays our positioning of the media department's professional lights and illustrates exactly how we lighted the green-screen, thus building to the structured and well developed final product of the music video: 



Because we had to become accustomed and confident with the song's lyrics we decided to use this computer to display the lyrics from the internet and conducted many test shots so we entirely understood the words and meanings of the songs:

Questionnaire - Sam

We have created this questionnaire to help us to understand what kind of target audience we are looking to attract with our music video. Judging by the song choices we have made we will be attracting older people however, this questionnaire will help us to find out if that is true. It will help to get an idea of how well our concept will be received. We will distribute this to 20 people to gain further feedback and we will create a series of charts and analyse the data to assist with the making of our video.

Filming/editing inspiration - Alex

As we enjoy the style of the 1970's Cop Shows we correlated and collected that bright and vibrant colours with an interesting narrative is appealing towards our target audience. We believe that the styles of both the Beegee's and 1970's cop shows correspond with each other whilst linking with the final product that we want to create. The editing aspect of our intentions is very easy such as introducing the characters with their names; we can easily use the software Sony Vegas to edit on a text box on the top layer of the video. Moreover we will apply filters and adjustments that will overlay our video as we want to create the vintage/old looking design such as the TV show 'Chips'.
